Rydu was always the smallest of his littermates. Born in 40 BBY. Though never bullied because of it he still felt that he had to prove himself to be better than his littermates. Whether it was doing chores around the house, or playing a pick up game of Limmie, Rydu always had to be the best.
Rydu grew up in a family of bounty hunters. His mom, Sadie, would generally do all the leg work, gathering info, scouting locations. Once she found the target his father, Duke, would move in to capture the mark. His parents were strict about following all guidelines and regulations put forth on bounty hunter’s by the Republic. Unless there was no other option, they would also take their marks alive. They were well known in many law enforcement circles for their reliability and efficiency, as well as bringing back their mark alive.
Everything in life was going well. Duke would teach Rydu and his littermates how to fire weapons, the rifle was always Rydu’s favorite. Sadie would teach them how to not be seen, and how to get information from locals without them getting suspicious of why you are looking for this info. Duke and Sadie together would teach the kids about doing the right thing. Though the people they captured were criminals, they were still people. No matter what they still had to face trial for their crimes and let their peers decide their fate.
Business began to boom when Rydu was entering his teen years. The Clone Wars were in full swing and bounties began to spring up to capture suspected informants and the like. Rydu’s parents were esspecially sought after in many cases because of their reputation of taking bounties alive.
By the time he was 21 Rydu had begun to work on his own as a bounty hunter. His parents had retired a few years earlier with the money they made during the Clone Wars. Though they were weary about the Empire, they were reassured by the propaganda that was being pushed everywhere on the HoloNet. His parents had been spending their retirement touring the galaxy. Though they had been to many planets, they had never had a chance to actually enjoy them, having always been working. They would always send Rydu and his littermates messages when they arrived to a planet. On his second bounty on Alderaan Rydu’s parents were actually visiting the planet. Though whether if this was just happy coincidence or a imprompto plan Rydu may never found out.
After their visit to Alderaan, Duke and Sadie went to Caamas to visit the lush jungle planet. Rydu was in a Cantina after a successful hunt when the news began to pour in. The planet Caamas was attacked, the whole planet is in ruin. The thought of his parents being dead threw Rydu into a rage. Flipping tables, throwing chairs against the wall, smashing glasses, nothing was safe. Finally, after thoroughly exhausting himself, Rydu slummed against the wall and finally saw the carnage and destruction he had caused. The Bartender was screaming for someone to control Rydu, but he had no energy left. Rydu spent the next few nights in the local jail. After being released he went back to the Cantina, giving the bartender over half of his purse from the recent bounty to pay for the damages.
Rydu spent the next couple months and nearly all his credits gathering information on the attacks at Caamas. Though he never could confirm it, he is almost positive the Empire was behind the attacks. He hopes now to find the proof he needs to show the rest of the galaxy just how evil the Empire really is.
