Kieral Voss was born in a artificial womb to Marruc Voss, chairmen and CEO of the Voss Foundation, on the planet Thurisen. Her mother is unknown to her, all her father tells her is that she was a excellent genetic donor. Her father refuses to tell her, because Kieral is his custom successor and he didn’t want any maternal influences outside of his control. She grew up living a lift of luxury, as one would expect of the heir to Voss Foundation, a large conglomerate organized under tax exempt foundation as a obvious and morally dubious tax shelter. Kieral was educated at home for her primary education, by the finest of tutors under the watchful eye of her father. It was the one thing that could pull him away from his unceasing obsession with increasing the foundation’s and therefore his own net worth. His watchful eye was not for Kieral’s benefit, but to ensure that his hier was shaped according to his own vision.
The clone wars erupted during the final year of her secondary school. She would graduate with degrees in biological sciences and business. She took her side along her father, being given a non-voting advisor seat on the board of the Voss Foundation, as was family custom, and several positions at various foundation companies. Thanks to fathers lack of ethics, and willingness to weapons and supplies to both sides of conflict the Foundation’s revenues grew by leaps and bounds. The sales to the Republic were direct, while the sales to separatist customers were first worked out and transportation arranged through intermediates. With the buyout of countless smaller competitors, and the war in general, revenues for the foundation octupled by the end of the war and would stay up due to new empires still large military budget.
It was during this time period that grew away from her fathers wanton quest for wealth and status. She had been, at the behest of her father, part of several negotiating teams during the war handling arrangement of sales to the separatist forces. One such sale was the sale of copious amounts of extremely deadly nerve gas to a separatist general. At the end of the war, in what would be called the Aquellius Incident, that same general’s droid forces were held up in captial city of the planet of Aquellius. His forces helplessly out numbered, he lured the forces of The Grand Army of the Republic into the city under guise of his forces collapsing. With them in the city, he released the never gas he had purchased. all throughout the city, killing himself, 95% of the republic forces, and over 100,000 civilians trapped in the city. When word reach Kieral, enjoying her self sunbathing at that moment of what happened on Aquellius, it finally hit her what she had allowed herself, and the legacy of her family get involved in.
If I had forced the contingent to deny that part of the order, all those civilians would have survived, Kieral though to herself, starring out into the distances, tears flowing from her eyes. Their blood is on my hands.
She attempted to broach the subject with her father, but her father would have none of it. He only saw credit singes, never the lives of others.
Disgusted with her father and herself even more, with the clone wars over, with empire ascendent, she set out to loose herself across the galaxy in partying. Always trying to forget, and looking for maybe, and just maybe, a way for redemption.
The Voss Foundation is a large non-profit holding company, currently helmed by CEO and Chairmen Marruc Voss. Other relatives of Marruc, both silblings and cousins, make up the remainder of the foundation’s board. It is headquartered on the planet Thurisen, about five parsecs from the Voss ancestral homeworld of Zeltros. Founded in 1342 BBY, by Froedi Voss, at that time as Voss Entertainment Hologlyphics, a provider of quality holographic entertainment, it would expand during the following centuries to various other industries, including but not limited to:
travel and tourism
and finally weapons under the name of ProtecTech Arms company, which supplies the Zeltros, Thurisen, and other planetary security forces.
It was reorganized in 893 BBY as The Voss Foundation so the family could focus on their philanthropic works.
The company has expanded greatly in size in the last few years, providing arms and supplies to the Grand Army of the Republic, as well as to concerned citizens wishing to protect their interest during this violent time.
